Hi.
I just bought a Vine TJ-225 thermostat. I was reading the manual to properly install it and I'm really confused with some of the wires.

My old thermostat is a "White Rodgers 1F79" and it has wires on the following terminals: "W2", "E", "O/B", "R", "G", "C and "Y". And The TJ-225 has the following Terminals "RC" and "RH" (with a jumper), "G", "W/E", "Y", "C", "Y2" and "O/B/W2".

Some of the wires, I believe I should connect like this:  R--->(RC-RH); G--->G, C--->C and Y--->Y, right?

My question is regarding the wires on the "W2", "E" and "O/B" from the old thermostat. How should I connect them on the TJ-225 since there's only one terminal for "O/B/W2", one for "W/E" and a "Y2"?

Should I connect the "W2" wire to the "W/E" terminal, the "O/B" wire to the "O/B/W2" terminal, and leave the "E" wire disconnected?

Attached are the pictures from my old thermostat "White Rodgers 1F79" and the TJ-225.

Could someone help me with this?

Thank you so much.

Sincerely,

Victor

It seems you have a heat pump system. You did a good job posting all the information regarding the wires and stats, but you should also include the equipment with the models. That includes the indoor and outdoor unit, as well as any additional back up heater kit information.

If it's what I think it is, I would do exactly as you said with R,C,G, and Y, but I would have the W2 from your old stat now go on the Y2.
I would keep the E and put it on the W/E. I would put the O/B on the O/B/W2.

I would make sure the new stat is setup for heat pump use as it seems it's also able to used for a conventional system, which is where some of the confusion is happening... This is all assuming you have a heat pump system that I think you have by your older stat wiring.

Thank you, Porcupinepuffer.
I think I got it right(at least I hope so  :) ).
First I did just like I wrote, but it didn't seem it was right. Then, thanks to a very nice guy on Reddit, I realized I have a heat pump and it is reversed in cool (O wire) with auxiliary and emergency, 1 heat stage and 1 cool stage. I couldn't find info regarding how to install this on the vine TJ-225 manual but I found something on Honeywell thermostat manual. It says that "If old thermostat has separate wires on AUX and E, place both wires into the E/AUX terminal. If old thermostat has wire on AUX with a jumper to E, place wire on E/AUX terminal. No jumper is required.".
And That's what I did.
I connected the black (E) and white (W2) wires together in the "W/E" terminal, the "O" wire in the "O/B/W2" terminal, Red (R) in the "RC-RH", G in G, C in C and Y in Y.
After that, I configurated my TJ-225 to Heat Pump Reversed on Cool and enabled Emer and Aux. And it worked. The thermostat is heating and cooling properly.
The manual I read was this one: http://www.honeywellmanual.com/pdf/honeywell%20rth6580wf%20manual.pdf
If you notice I did something wrong, please let me know!   :D
