Good afternoon everyone, I'm getting heat pumps installed in my home and I'm confused about what installers are telling me. Because of the layout of my homes floorplan (see attached) one single head would be installed above the front door in the vestibule and a dual head at the other side of the house for the living room and basement. I have 3 estimates, two tell me I need a 17000 btu for the hallway and bedrooms and a dual head 9000 btu for the living room, and a 12000 to 18000 for the basement. One of the installers told me a 17000 would be no good above the front door as the area is to small and the unit would constantly be shutting on and off before it got to the hall and other rooms. he says I need a 9000 there. My front door area has a walk-up to the hall and the ceiling height in vestibule area is 12ft. Totally confused, maybe someone here can give me some help.
