Generators First and Second Stage Regulators

Maybe I'm spazzing out here.

The Utility Meter can be considered as the first stage regulator for the purposes of Generator installation, right?

I dont need to put a 7in w.c. first stage regulator right after a meter that's doing that same exact thing.

You should not require an additional regulator.  The utility may want to increase the actual gas meter size though depending on the total BTUs.

Yes. Done enough of these and that was never even a thought. I think you would run in to issues trying to piggyback regulators trying to give the same pressures.

Yes the first reg at the meter is all you need for 7"wc (6"-10") delivery to the unit. The only time if I'm not mistaken is if you have to bring pounds service to an appliance than drop down for the appliance you would most likely need double. I actually went to a  commercial call like this last week. It was supposed to be inches wc  but the set up was for pounds. Long story short, the second reg was stuck wide open and was serving no purpose. Fired up fine, working pressure well within specs.
