Hi folks,

Background: Running furnace to heat the house in winter, temp ranging from 69-73 F, humidity stick around 50%. Have to crack open a window to lower it  down but compromising heat.

Could someone explain what is the cause?

Do you have a humidifier in the house? Is it running non stop?

Is your drier exhaust plugged/ripped causing moisture to be vented out into the house?

Do you use steam heaters to disinfect stuff. Like baby bottles and such like?

Do you use an aromatizing/incense humidifier?

How many people live in the house?

Do you have any aquariums?

Latest repair on furnace - condensation drain was clogged causing it to short cycle, which i replaced with a new drain hose. To test this further i was able to be away from home(no factor other then furnace itself) for a week period, using NEST i remotely controlled the thermostat and same result...got high humidity levels when i raise the temp. 

How old is this house?

Built in 2003

Make sure your furnace and HW tank venting properly?

Do you have CO detectors in the house?

If the house is built fully wrapped and air tight, any air you exhaust may be pulling in flue gases.
