I decided I ought to replace my air handler fan relay since it stopped working again after 2 weeks, after I cleaned the contact. I called up Grainger and they don't have anything to replace it.

It is a Double Pole Single Throw Fan Relay 24 Volt coil 5 Amp.

It just has six wires connected to six spade terminals. It has a threaded side mounting hole, which would be nice to have in the new relay, but isn't absolutely necessary.

I have some pics. Not the clearest because I can't get the close-up feature to work any more.

It's in a Trane air handler from 1986 model BWV724A100E0.

A number is stamped on the side of the relay : 862901

Other information stamped on the coil is : AMF  P & B   KU-2016   KU7A3J   24V   50/60  HZ.

Other side of the coil has :  1/10 HP  120 V AC   5A   240 AC.

On top of the coil is stamped  21D131200P16.

It is a single throw double pole normally open.   Has 24 volt coil.

I might have to ask how to hook up my six wires, especially if the new relay comes with more than six spade terminals.

Thanks for any help.

Relay RLY00902 should work, but it's DPDT.

It's listed as the OEM part for that model of air handler,

Thanks.

I thought it was a DPST.  but apparently it is a DPDT. Thanks for mentioning that.

My relay only has 6 pins, and the RLY00902 has 8 pins  Will that be a problem ? Why would one have 6 and the other have 8 pins?

I just ordered a plug in type DPDT 24 volt relay from Eaton. I am assuming I can just connect my wires to the appropriate spade terminals on the Eaton plug in relay and it will work the same as a 'regular' relay. Am I right?

Thanks
