I have an ACH=12 mini-split. Brand name Air Control.This is a 10 seer unit. I purchased a replacement condenser fan motor and it has one more wire than the old motor. This is a 240v motor. By the diagram on the motor,the extra white wire connects to one end of the capacitor and is in series with what appears to be a switch of some sort. My guess is that this is for a higher efficiency unit and I'm wondering if there is a way to make it work on my unit

Take a picture of the new motor wiring diagram if possible.  I've never seen a white wire on a capacitor before.  Maybe the motor is only getting 120V.

If u chk the wiring diagram they tell u to use separate capacitor for the fan or you can use the dual capacitor. If u use the dual capacitor more than likely use 3 wires else 4 wires for step caps.

So: what do you make of this schematic that I attached? This is on the new motor. I'm not familiar with the symbol in series with the white wire.

I would connect the white wire to the same COMMON terminal on the capacitor that the orange wire is connected to.  That should give you 240V.

I don't recognize that electrical switch symbol, but it's normally closed.  Could it be an internal overload switch?
