We are wholesalers of hvac and we would like to subcontract residential air condition installation and Gas furnace.

My question is :
what is required on our part in terms of licence to subcontract
what is required from the subcontractors in terms of licence

such as

313A and 313D is a must
WSIB TSSA
Minimum $2M liability
G2 Gas Technician License

We are not familiar with Ontario laws since we are not based in Ontario.
Can someone help

For residential work, in Ontario, the subs would have to hold G2 (TSSA), 313D (OCOT) and ODP (HRAI) certificates.  The subs should also have there own training on WHMIS, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Confined Spaces, Lockout/Tagout Safety and Basic of Fall Prevention.

Both your company and the subs would also need to be registered as contractors with the TSSA.  As well you would both need WSIB, Business and HST registration and liability insurance.

You may want to register with the Ontario Power Authority so that your clients can receive rebates.  You will also need to register with the ESA as electrical permits are required.
