Hello,

Does anyone has a sample of such a letter or may be a rough copy. Just not sure what to write, i have to make such a letter myself so my boss can sign it, because he has no time  >:(.

Thank you!

Usually when you go in and talk to the ministry people they give you a bunch of papers and a book that needs to be signed through your apprenticeship by you and your employer, I simply used that book to make a list of everything I did which in turn was everything they wanted me to know (obviously)...just worded better.

Thank you guys, especially to Admin. Is it really necessary to mention 313D license number of the guy i used to work with? He is not with us anymore. I went through the "Guide for Applicants" and it does not say that you have to provide any CoQ number. Are you sure it is necessary?

Admin

The requirements seem to vary depending on which MTCU office you visit.

In the attachment it says a non-apprentice must have a holder of a up-to-date certificate complete the "PLA", Prior Learning Assessment.

I never mentioned a license in mine, all they asked for was for it to be written on company letter head.

I think I am going to go and visit their Downtown location, since i am working there. I will ask them exactly if i need that certification number. Let you know later today after work. Thanks again!

Challenged my 313D exam two weeks ago, Downtown location, Toronto. Man, this test was so long and pretty challenging for me, anyways. Received my results in about 5 business days and I got a passing mark of 82%! Regarding the test, there were many questions about heat pumps, zone dampers, static pressures, trouble shooting questions (like what happens if TXV bulb isnt attached to the suction line, what super heat suction pressure you will get), know how cool anticipation works as well as potential relay, there is some general installation question, also know compressors and their internals.

I would like to thank the Admin for having test questions for download. They really helped me to figure out the level of studying and how challenging the test might be. Next one is 313A, so questions for this exam would be greatly appreciated!

Yesterday received my mechanic license and Certificate of Qualification, which of course will be in the frame on the wall  :).

Good Luck everyone!

walker

how many eat pump questions were there if you remember?
and did you the practice questions that are available on the forums really help you, are the questions on the exam very similar to them?

Admin

There's 5 or more different versions the MTCU uses for testing.  The exam has changed and will continue to change but the theory stays the same.

rupa

There were similar questions, phrased differently. I suggest you read the book.

Refrigeration/Air Conditioning Technology by Bill Whitman, John Tomczhik (Sixth edition)

Chalabi

Hi guys,

I am looking forward challanging my 313D exam, the issue i worked in two differant AC companies, in this case how can i arrange the letters or if someone has  samples for two different employers writing these letters, please upload or  advise , thanks

walker

Your best bet is to just write the letters yourself and send them to the companies you worked for and have them print it off on their letterhead. Just use the example letter and change it around a bit. That's what I did.

Chalabi

Ok thanks, so that is all i need, just evidence letters with companies letter head and the liscence technician signature on them ?

walker

Yes and I believe they want contact numbers too because they will call to check.
