Charge: Part III Provincial Offences Act summons for an offence under the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009, sec. 4 – employing or otherwise engaging individual to engage in compulsory trade without a Certificate of Qualification.

Summary: On November 25, 2016, Ontario College of Trades enforcement officers conducted an inspection at a new residential site located at 457 Peel Street, Collingwood ON. The enforcement officers determined that one (1) individual was performing the work of a residential (low rise) sheet metal installer (308R) without proper qualifications, in particular, the individual did not hold a Certificate of Qualification and was not an apprentice in the trade working pursuant to a registered training agreement.

On April 7, 2017 1719461 Ontario Limited o/a Pratt and Hunter Ltd.was convicted of the charge and the court imposed a monetary fine and issued a one (1) year probation order.
