Charge: Part III Provincial Offences Act summons for an offence under the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009, sec. 86 (7) – obstruction of investigators and inspectors.

Summary: On June 8, 2016 Ontario College of Trades inspectors received a complaint that unauthorized individuals were performing residential air conditioning work in the Oakville area. The inspectors made several attempts to obtain information related to the investigation but were not successful in obtaining documents from Atlantis HVAC Systems Inc. and subsequently charged the company with obstruction.

On May 2, 2017 Atlantis HVAC Systems Inc. was convicted of the charge and the court imposed a monetary fine, including a victim fine surcharge.
