I recently purchased an EcoBee Smart Thermostat.  The latest model available.  I reviewed the installation guide on their website, and also reviewed the scenario of installing the Power Extender Kit.  At this point, I haven't proceeded because my system appears to be more complex than the information provided.  Below is pictures of both my current thermostat wiring, and the wiring leading to the circuit board of the HVAC unit.

Any suggestions/instructions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Is blue the only unused thermostat wire available?  You shouldn't need to use the PEK adapter.

Just use the unused blue wire and connect it to C on the Ecobee and then connect the other end to C on the furnace.

Connect the G, Y, W and R wires to the Ecobee.  I'm not sure if by latest you mean you have the Ecobee 4 or the newest Ecobee.  They no longer list a generation number but I call it the Ecobee 5.  You likely have to connect the red R wire to the Ecobee RC terminal.  Using the RH terminal on the Ecobee may not power up the thernostat.

Is that a humidifier connected to W1 and C at the furnace?  The Ecobee can control the humidifier if you have a spare wire to connect to ACC.  You would have to eliminate the humidistat and wire the humidifier solenoid to that ACC wire and C on the furnace.

If you use the PEK adapter you can then use the unused blue wire to control the humidifier.

It looks like you have 6 or 7 wires leaving that furnace. how many are up at that stat? If you have 7, you could even remove the jumper between w1 and w2 and use the ecobee for the 2 stage heating.

Porcupinepuffer has a good point.  I would remove the jumper and wire the Ecobee and furnace W1 and W2 terminals.  If you don't have enough wires just confirm which version of Ecobee you have and we can help you wire the PEK adapter so you can use the 2 stage thermostat function.  Different versions use different PEK wiring.

It almost looks like there's an unused black wire at the thermostat but I don't see it at the furnace.  Is that a Trane furnace?  I don't think that control board has dip switches to worry about.
