Hey guys,

I have a 5 year old lennox furnace but the builder didnt put a cwire to make this easy for me.

Lookin for some help hooking up my t9 termostat, it came with a c wire adapter for the inside my furnace.

I kinda have a good idea how to hook it up but I'm confused about the G wire from my thermostat being attached to my W wire of my Van EE erv contoller wire.

I attached a labled pic of the inside of furnace, its not a fancy diagram like the ones Ive been looking at on here. I can try to make one. I also attached pic of my currenty thermostat.

If someone could help me out that be great, I was gonna take it back and give up but I wanna have a new thermostat.

If you need anymore info or pics please let me know.

If you look at my pic, I'm kinda just not sure what to do with the G wire??? I tried searching everywhere... I even tried calling honeywell but the person didnt know much.

Thanks for your time.

Is the G wire connected to the HRV controller upstairs or to the HRV itself?  I've never seen a W wire on a Vanee HRV or control.  Usually the furnace is interlocked with the terminals on the HRV labelled, NO, NC and C.

You can disconnect the thermostat wires from the furnace Blue, Red and White.  Then disconnect the green wire marreted to the white wire going to the HRV.

Connect those 4 wires to the C Adapter as follows;

Red to R.
Blue to K.
Green to C.
White to W.

Now you should have 3 wires coming from the HRV connected into the furnace.  (Except for the white wire we disconnected earlier)

HRV NO red wire is already connected to furnace R.
HRV C black wire is already connected to furnace G.
HRV NC white wire should now be connected to C adapter G wire.

Now connect C adapter W wire to furnace W.
C adapter R wire to furnace R.
C adapter Y wire to furnace Y.
C adapter C wire to furnace C.
C adapter G wire has already been connected to HRV NC white wire.

Now at the new T9 thermostat connect the 4 wires as follows;

Red to R.
Blue to K.
Green to C.
White to W.

Follow the attached wiring diagram.  The Ecobee 3 is your T9 but the PEK terminal is K on the T9.

The PEK adapter is your C adapter but the G terminal is C and the Y terminal is K.

Hey thanks so much for your help I REALLY appreciate it!  :)

I'm still kinda confused, it's alot to take in. I made 2 diagram's to help me understand it better.

Please bare with with me if I missed something you said.

I'm pretty sure youre right about that white erv wire going to the actuall erv. I'm confused still where to put it, I made 2 samples of that wire.

**wires colors match but the white wire is gray on my pic

Use your first drawing but note the interlock is wrong.

If your grey wire between HRV and furnace G is connected to HRV NC disconnect it.  Also disconnect the G wire coming from the C adapter off the furnace G.  These 2 wires just marrete together.

There should only be 1 wire connected to furnace G like my drawing shows.

Look for the 3 wires connecting to the HRV and let me know what terminals they are connected to, IE Red= NO, black = C, white = NC.  Only black HRV C should be connected to furnace G terminal.

Thanks. Like this?

I will go check the hrv terminal connections to confirm.

Not sure of the ERV terminal connections, it doesnt specify at the connection. the left hand wires, (red black white) go to furnace; and the right side (red green white) go to the controller.

I dont have a hrv, its a vanee erv 60h; if that even matter's....

I attached some pics of the erv wiring.

If all is good I can just stick to the attached diagram?

I appoligize for all the questions but I just wanna be solid on the install today, its cold out and I'm nervous that I might break my furnace.

Thanks again for your help to

The terminals are marked on the back of the ERV green molex plug.  You can pull it out if need be.

antec

Ahhhh, I didnt know. It's connected to NO, NC and C like you said.

I see that black HRV C is connected to furnace G terminal, I think I'm good for the install based on my diagram3, I will try installing it soon.
