Hi !

I'm having a heat pump installed next week and I want to wire my actual thermostat accordingly.
There was no heat pump before and the actual system is electric only.
My thermostat is a White-Rodgers 1F85-0471
My air handler is a UPG unit AHP30B3XH21A
My Heat pump is a Goodman GSZ140241LA (single stage)

So how should my thermostat be wired in order to use the heat pump as the primary (only) cold source and primary heat source with the electric system as a backup when outside temperature gets below heat pump capability ?

this is what my setup looks like

If someone could tell me what goes where please !

Cheers

MODE Jumper on air handler control board should be set to HP for heat pumps.  There would also be a lot of options in the thermostat config to adjust as well.

If you use the optional outdoor thermostat remove the W2 wire from the air handler W2 to the thermostat W2.

I attached pics form the thermostat, air handler and heat pump manuals.  I would follow the heat pump wiring diagram.

Hi! Thanks for the reply
So I already pulled all 3 wiring diagram, but that's actually what triggered me question on the forum as all 3 don't seem to suggest the same wiring for the functions 😅
The jumper on the handler board was already on HP position so this remain like that. I used the HP diagram to wire from the Heat pump to the air handler, but I didn't change anything yet between the thermostat and the handler.
And there is no outside thermostat installed.

So I figured pretty much everything but the W/W1 and W2 jumper.
The thermostat manual say to jump both W together if I don't have an E option on my air handler, which I don't so I did that.
Question is now do I also jump both W on the air handler board?
