Aprilaire humidity reading issue

Hello, I am restarting an existing Aprilaire 600, which doesn't seem to give a continuous reading of the humidity. I had to disconnect and reconnect the 24v (R and C terminal) on the control panel to get an updated reading. Not sure if I missed something here. Any advise? Thanks!
