I have several potential sales and one sale of complete hvac systems in residential homes.  My understanding of the codes in this is that you have to have a licensed tin banger for the installation of the ductwork.  What I don't understand is where this falls under is this under the building code?  On that note I am looking for a licensed tin smith to do tin work for me on a contract basis in the Mississippi Mills and Renfrew county area.  I would be willing to hire one on but could not guarantee that the work you would be doing would be tin related all the time.  I currently have the direct energy contract for the exchange of water heaters in this area and I am looking for a full time installer for that as well.

R.R.O. 1990, REGULATION 1077 - SHEET METAL WORKER - Download Here

That's the Ontario Regulation that states the sheet metal worker must be an apprentice or a licensed worker.  I believe with a new home the duct design and heat gain / loss analysis must be completed for the inspection.

I used to know a great guy out in that area.  His first name was Kevin, but I've lost his number.  I'll see if I can't get the number for you.
