Hello, I have graduated  in June 2009, from an H.V.A.C. training program. I finished top of the class and passed the G2 exam on the first write with a mark of 89%. I CANT GET A JOB !  I dont even get responses to the numerous resumes i send out. any help from anyone would be appreciated. I am finding most company,s are looking for someone with experience. How do you get it if no one will hire you? The frustrating part is, how did They get started?, did someone not give them a chance? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I live in Southwestern Ontario. chris276@sympatico.ca

It's a bit of a slow time right now.  Don't sweat it too much, within 6 months you should find a job.
Try visiting the local hvac wholesalers, they often have job postings.

I hear you brother

Getting into the HVAC trade or getting to any trade is really hard, unless you know someone or you have experience.

When I got in the trades, I was the same out of school and willing to work. I heard from the news that there's a shortage of skilled workers and so on... almost 7 months passed by be4 I even got a reply from an email or phone call (rejecting me b/c I didn't have Rooftop experience)

My advice is try to stay positive, keep looking and applying post your resume on the bill boards at supply shops (minus ur personal info)
such as
WWG
Don Park
United refrigeration
wolseley frontier and so on...

I know most of the things I typed just sounds lame, when your angry b/c your willing to work and learn and you can't find a job.
Trust me most of us have been there
Good luck on the job hunt
