Is there anybody know where i can find a manual for instaflame DV36RN fireplace.

Admin

I believe Insta Flame, Majestic and Vermont Castings went out of business.

Download The Enviro DV36 Owners Manual - Here

Download the Majestic / Vermont Castings DVRT36 Installation and Operating Manual - Here

Hopefully those manuals help you.

Thanks admin, I'm having problem looking for thermocouple for that said unit.
Somebody know where to get one.

I goto The Fireplace Center / Advanced Prefabs for those type of parts.  They always have something that matches up.  I'm in Ottawa, where abouts are you located?

I think the thermocouple type depends on wether you have the SIT or Robertshaw gas valve.

I believe the SIT uses part #24D0808,

I used to order alot of hard to get fireplace parts from Target and they would ship the parts to me.  I tried calling and the message said BBQ and grill parts so I'm not sure if the company changed or got out of selling fireplace parts.  You could call them tomorrow when they open at,

I've worked on hundreds of those fireplaces. I would strongly suggest to you to order a complete pilot assembly it will make your life a lot  easier to replace. Not much of a price difference either

robstar

That a a good idea, Thanks a lot.

robstar

After double checking everything before i replace the pilot assembly i found out that the  MERCURY FLAME SAFETY SWITCH is the one that need to be replace. the fireplace works when i bypass the switch. Now the question is where can i get this swich?

Admin

With the model and serial number you should be able to order any part from Target.

Porcupinepuffer

After having worked as a fireplace installer for almost 10 years, the only ones I ever heard of that had a mercury flame safety switch were discontinued and only the remaining stock that was still around was being sold to those who got lucky. I remembered hearings that when they were down to the last few of those switches, they were selling over $500. This was years ago, and they would probably be completely impossible to find now. I'm not sure if this is the same as yours, but you may be looking to replace that fireplace as bypassing the switch is a huge no no.

robstar

I agree with you, I only bypass it just to test the switch. It's too bad that they don't make replacement part, it's not even pair for those owner.

harshal

They probably discontinue the mercury switch, but I heard they sell the replacement kit.I think that a pain to change it.I would try to get the part from south of the border.

Can someone sum up this issue as I have the same problem.  What is the most cost effective solution?
Thank you,
Rob

they make a conversion kit that changes the gas valve and pilot assembly,  cost about $300-400

Get from south of the border.Recycle your old mercury switch to community recycling center.

Hi All,

I am very interested in your opinion on the following.

I have a 1992 Insta-Flame DV36 RN Natural Gas Fireplace is shutting down after 10 seconds of being on. I cleaned the thermocouple but without success so I guess the part may be faulty or there is some issue with the gas valve.
I was given a quote of 360 + labor for replacing the gas valve and pilot, does this replacement and price makes sense?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

I have an insta flame dv34 rn.  There are two bolts that hold on the glass that have twisted off.  Am I allowed to replace those bolts?  Gas tech that came in said no and I have to trash my whole fireplace.  Any answers?
