I've had my obt2 and g2 since 2005, recently acquired my 313d (but have been working on splits for years). Im experienced equally in installations and service. I go on call every 3rd week in the winter. 70% of the work is oil burner service/installs with a 30% mix of propane and nat gas. The summer is mostly resi split installs and service with light mini split work. I've worked for the same gentleman since 05, and will be asking for more monies in the fall, wondering what a fair wage is?. Located aprox 60kms north of the gta. AT the end of the year what should my t4 read. Im currently paid piece work for service and hourly for installs. last years t4 70gs plus the use of the service van

You can visit the Government of Canada's Ontario - Toronto Zone: Schedule of Wage Rates - Here

A refrigeration mechanic working on a government job site in Toronto would make $37.46/hr or $74, 920/year.  I think those wages are more in line with union rates.

Union rates exceeds the 40$/H.

Correct union rates are around $45/hr for a 5 year. Local 46. Seen both sides of the story but if you can get into a good plant and do industrial gas work you have potential to charge $75+/Hr, or if you only specialize in combustion you can charge $100+/Hr and double time Saturday/Sunday.
