Do they keep u in class right to 4pm or do u get out early?? I'm asking this cause I'm trying to plan work while I'm in school

For the most part, they definitely don't keep you there until 4 pm. The teacher notices that after about 5 or 6 hours of class time, everybody's brain starts to turn to mashed potatoes. Unless it appears the class is falling behind and a lot of people are having difficulty understanding a concept, they will keep you there longer... Personally, I think it's better this way for those who have experience and do understand things more easily. At the same time,  If you're having difficulties understanding something, you can stick around for longer and get extra help from the teacher since he will still be in the class after he allows everyone to leave.

It was a similar situation when I also took the course at a different college.

As for co-op, no idea. I did it with my own employer.

You don't do coop there. It's just that if you don't already have a form of employment for the coop part, they can try and help get you working somewhere for the coop hours. They prefer you to already have a co op placement.

Same question, do they let you leave at 1pm everyday?

Well there's no set schedule for leaving earlier. The teacher knows the schedule of what needs to be taught and gone over in the modules and will teach according to how long it takes to make sure each part of it is covered and understood... This will always vary depending on how off-topic the discussions get, and how many questions are being asked by students.

You can actually leave earlier if you really need to. Just ask the teacher...

Puffer,
a few corrections;
HiMark does do a co-op G3 and G2. We are first and only college to offer the co-op as a part of the program
We do not "prefer" that you already have your own co-op. Himark has more co-op positions than we can fill, with TSSA registered contractors.
Class is scheduled from 8am-4pm, but will dismiss earlier as you said depending on many factors as long as the lesson plan is covered.
The instructors are always available for additional help with assignments or practical projects after dismissal regardless of time.

There are many rumors and falsehoods out there about Himark.
remember that as it has been said" you get back what you put in"

I meant that co-op training isn't taking place at Hi-Mark. I went to Hi-Mark and it certainly is preferred that you're already set with a place to do the co-op hours since it's less work on the teacher to find it for you and get you placed.
When I attended, it wasn't the busy season for most "TSSA registered contractors". It was not overly easy to get everyone a placement despite the fact that all HVAC teachers will lead you to believe there's tons of work for everyone, and with great pay.

Do u get paid for the coop?
What time of day did the coop let u go ??
