wind interfering with pressure switches

ive got a goodman furnace and over the last few days its been tripping out occasionally on e1 error which is low fire pressure switch stuck closed during start up. the strange thing is it only happens periodically and it hasnt happened at all this week so far and weve had no wind. has anyone ever has issues with wind coming down the exhaust and interfering with the pressure switches. its a wild theory as ive been monitring the furnace over the past few days and its been running just fine! also the pressure switch is only a year old as i replaced it last year as the old one failed

I've seen it before, Goodman has a little insert vane that they suggest you install on the termination.  I've used it before but it didn't help much.

I'm not sure if the bulletin Walker posted might apply,

Also sometimes a tee is approved to be used on the vent termination and this sometimes helps with the back pressure from wind as it will just escape out the other side of the tee.

if the issue is about the pressure switch stuck closed, you should check the drain tubings from the collector box for blockage.

Sometimes the water collects and makes the pressure switch trip open. Then a second later, the water would drain down and while the heat is no longer on, the inducer fan is still spinning due to inertia. The inertia spin makes the pressure switch close again, despite there being no voltage going to the inducer and the board expecting the pressure switch be open, instead of closed. So it kicks out pressure switch stuck closed error and doesnt kick the head in again.

This happens very intermittently, since the drain needs to be plugged enough to build the water up, but not enough to prevent the water from draining completely.

Had something similar in the past with a pressure switch as well, pressure switch would actually close do to prevailing winds.  Terminated the furnace with a tee instead of the depicted 90.  The dual opening on the tee allowed for wind effect and back pressure of the vent to effectively be cancelled out.   Does not match installation instructions but furnace no longer suffered this condition and customer is happy.  Good luck out there.

the furnace kept locking out on the same code and the troubleshooting chart indicated that if there was no short with the pressure switch wring then the low fire pressure switch was sticking and required replacing. i got a new pressure switch assembly as it comes with the low and high fire pressure switch. after replacing the unit would run on low and high fire and then the gas valve intermittently and then locking out on the same error code which was to replace the pressure switch. after inspection i found that the pressure switch for the collector box was opening after 10 minutes of operation and causing the unit to shut off . i found the line full of water so i cleared the drain lines and trap and pressure switch line and put it all back together and its been running fine ever since. i spoke to goodman tech support and they gave me no idea as to why it was shutting off on the pressure switch code for low fire.

The front cover switch should be throwing an E0 error and not a the E1 error.  What is the model? If it's one of the older 40" tall modulating Goodmans there is a bulletin to just bypass the front cover switch.

Also check that the port isnt obstructed, some of them come from the factory with some plastic burrs partially blocking the port, I usually poke through the hole with a small screwdriver to open it up a little.

it would throw an e1 code and then lockout on e0
so far so good

I know this sounds weird but I've been to calls that the vent termination near a chimney which hasn't extended past the chimney has caused a swirl effect that has caused the pressure switch to trip. Happened to my neighbour last week
