General / Challenging 313D
Last post by ISpeakHvacOnly - November 27, 2025, 11:15:32 PM
Hey was just wondering. I'm thinking on challenging the 313D once I acquire enough hours. I am aware my employer would have to write a letter to Skilled Trades Ontario. Does my employer have to also include his own 313D license on the letter as well? Is that required to have a valid letter to STO?

Thanks in advance

HVAC Help / Ecobee Premium + HRV-150 WOL —...
Last post by pilotcass - November 25, 2025, 10:54:38 PM
I have an older Lennox Healthy Climate HRV-150 WOL ventilation unit that uses a 3-wire wall controller:

Red = +12V
Black = Common
Orange = OBCS

I am trying to install an Ecobee Premium thermostat and would like it to control the HRV with it, but the Ecobee only provides a (ACC+, ACC–).

Is there any way to connect Ecobee directly to this HRV?
Any guidance, wiring diagrams, or confirmed setups would be appreciated.

I looked at the fasco a136. The Emerson k33hxcfe-194 has 3 inch inlet and outlet ports while the fasco has 2/1.8 inch ports, so adaptors would need to be used, which is no big deal. There is no drain port on the fasco, so a drain would need to be installed in the line. The spec's are the same, so if you were really determined the fasco could be used.

I have a clare furnace. The draft inducer is a Emerson model k33hxcfe-964. It is on it's last legs and i have been looking for a replacement. Has anyone been able to find a replacement for this inducer. I have looked for one on the internet, but don't see much available.  Has anyone been down this road? Can you get a replacement Emerson motor and change it and reuse the assembly. Any other options? Thanks.

You have to use the mechanical timer wiring.

See the attached picture.  Install the jumper between ON and RED.  Then wire the Ecobee ACC wires to HI and ON.  The HRV will run in high speed when it's turned on.  You could also use low speed instead.  Just connect the ACC wire to LOW instead of HI.  The Ecobee can only control one speed and not both.

What are the terminals your ERV is using now or what is the ERV model number?
